NORDIC WALKING FOR ADULTS

Nordic walking is an exercise that can be done by anyone, irrespective of their fitness levels, age or fitness goals.

The use of poles in Nordic Walking means that the upper body is engaged when exercising as well as the legs,

that's double the exercising benefit!

FUN, ENERGETIC, SOCIABLE

It's easy to learn Nordic Walking, although it may feel a little strange at first. Or, let's face it, you might feel a little bit silly with the poles..... We've all been there and now wouldn't consider walking without Nordic Poles - what a waste when you could be burning 46% more calories than ordinary walking!

Everyone in our established walking groups was a beginner once and we actively encourage and welcome new starters. It's a very sociable way to exercise and make friends. Tea and a chat afterwards have become part of these friendly groups.

The great thing is that in exercising outdoors, whatever the weather, we are getting our ACTIVE GREEN TIME fix, which contributes to having a positive attitude in our lives, lessening everyday stress, and putting worries into perspective.

YOU are worth investing your time in!

Raring to go? Here are some more benefits -
- Correctly done, Nordic Walking uses 90% of the skeletal muscles in the body
- Both upper and lower body toned at the same time
- Poles support and reduce pressure on knees and joints
- Nordic Walking is a great cardiovascular activity - that's good news for your heart and lungs
- Due to the distribution of effort throughout the body it is possible to move faster without feeling a huge increase in effort

Each week varied routes are explored with your instructor to help you get the maximum out of each session both physically and mentally.
